La Cura della Vita

La Cura della Vita

A huge heart of about 20sqm, made entirely in crochet with the help of 14 women, 26000 meters of thread and 1200 hours of work, a symbol of rebirth from the coronavirus, after having landed in Vo ‘Euganeo and Bergamo, made a stop in Cortina for the arrival of the Giro d’Italia.

The heart was created by the women of the De Leo Fund, to raise awareness, to offer human and psychological help to people affected by sudden and therefore traumatic events and situations.

After Cortina, the itinerant heart, a sign of solidarity and brotherhood, will continue its race in Turin.

La Cura della Vita

On 17 November we shall see the opening of a unique Tree Knitting event named “La Cura della Vita” (Care of Life). The very nature of this kind of installation makes it a form of social art, a type of visual expression very similar to graffiti and street art.

We will be clothing trees with bright and colourful knits. The tree, an immemorial emblem of life that grows and regenerates, has been chosen as the symbol for the no-profit De Leo Fund Onlus association.

This association offers free, qualified support to all those who have lost loved ones due of unexpected, traumatic and violent causes.
